Interdisciplinary Studies Journal

Meet Interpretations, the Interdisciplinary Studies Department’s first e-Journal. It functions as an outlet to showcase interdisciplinarity through the work of UCF faculty, UCF students, UCF alumni, and anyone who encompasses an interdisciplinary perspective. Interdisciplinarity occurs when one approaches a subject from two or more different disciplines and brings a refreshing, new outlook to the subject.

As an interdisciplinary publication, Interpretations encourages the creation of work that explores a term or concept from two or more disciplines, as a method for developing a new understanding. The spirit of interdisciplinarity may be developed in a submission by an individual or a collaboration of people.

We are excited to see what kind of productions have emerged using this approach. Our publication seeks to display a collection of work that conveys individual expertise, opinions, and knowledge across multiple disciplines. We welcome submissions that reach beyond the explicit and definitive explanations and encourage dialogue about our different ways of seeing.

Interpretations is supported by the University of Central Florida’s Interdisciplinary Studies program and the LIFE@UCF organization. Copyright of this work is retained by the authors, with limited rights granted to Interpretations in order to ensure the journal’s maintenance of the submissions online and in its archives.
